PROBATE AND INHERITANCE TAX MANAGEMENT

  • Medal for Merit
FOR THOSE REQUIRING A PROBATE VALUATION:

COVINGTON can provide a detailed valuation report following a death in the family, and assist lawyers, accountants and the executors with any details regarding the estate's fair division.

Should funds need to be raised we can advise on the best course of action to achieve the necessary sales of chattels and assist beneficiaries on the care and continued management of their collections.
FOR LARGE ESTATES:

For larger clients with higher value collections of Art and Antiques it is often recommended that planning for Inheritance Tax is carried out in advance of a death. We have helped such clients with fair division planning and selection of items to cover tax liabilities. We also can help identify suitable objects for Acceptance in Lieu Schemes and discuss the complex 'Exemption' rules, including necessary 'Pre Eminence' of individual items or collections with long association to a property.

Contact us for a free initial consultation. All formal valuations are charged on a time basis which is agreed in advance.
